Octavio Domínguez is a lifelong El Pasoan, experienced attorney, and community advocate running for Justice of the Peace to ensure the court serves people with fairness, dignity, and efficiency.Born and raised in El Paso, Octavio attended Saint Joseph’s Elementary School and graduated from Cathedral High School. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts from Princeton University and a Juris Doctor from the SMU Dedman School of Law.Octavio has been a licensed attorney for more than 15 years, with extensive experience in both civil and criminal law. Over the course of his career, he has represented thousands of clients and tried dozens of cases to jury, giving him a deep understanding of how courts affect people’s daily lives. After law school, Octavio returned home to El Paso, where he served as a law clerk to two federal judges—the Honorable Anne T. Berton, United States Magistrate Judge, and the Honorable David C. Guaderrama, United States District Judge for the Western District of Texas. This experience gave him firsthand insight into how effective courts operate and the importance of fairness, consistency, and preparation on the bench. For nearly eight years, Octavio worked with the Office of the El Paso County Public Defender, representing individuals who could not afford an attorney. He handled cases ranging from misdemeanor offenses to serious felony matters and saw firsthand how delays, lack of access, and confusion in the court system can harm families and communities.Today, Octavio is the managing partner of Castañon Domínguez Law, PLLC, a local law firm serving the El Paso community. He is also a local business owner, deeply invested in the well-being of the people and neighborhoods he serves.Throughout his career, Octavio has been guided by a simple principle: the justice system should work for everyone. As Justice of the Peace, he is committed to:
- Treating every person with dignity and respect
- Applying the law fairly and consistently
- Ensuring timely resolutions without unnecessary delays
- Maintaining a court that is accessible, responsive, and accountable to the communityOctavio lives in El Paso with his family and is the proud parent of two young children. He is running for Justice of the Peace to bring experience, fairness, and compassion to a court that many people encounter at critical moments in their lives.

Justice of the Peace court is often the first—and sometimes the only—court people ever experience. For many families, it is where they go for help with evictions, traffic cases, small claims, debt matters, and other issues that directly affect their daily lives.Over my career as an attorney, I have seen how much impact this court can have when it is run well—and how frustrating and costly it can be when it is not. Delays, lack of access, and inconsistent application of the law can leave people feeling unheard and discouraged, even when they are simply trying to navigate the legal system.I am running for Justice of the Peace because I believe the court should be a place where every person is treated with dignity and respect, regardless of background, language, or income. The law should be applied fairly and consistently, and cases should be handled efficiently, without unnecessary delay. With more than 15 years of experience in civil and criminal law, including work before and alongside judges, I understand the responsibility that comes with serving on the bench. As Justice of the Peace, my goal is to ensure that the court is accessible, professional, and responsive, and that everyone who appears before it has confidence they are being heard and treated fairly.I am running to serve the community I call home and to help ensure that Justice of the Peace court reflects the values of fairness, accountability, and respect that El Paso deserves.
